Prospective Parents

Why choose St Helen’s?

Choosing your child’s school is a very important decision, one that takes into account their individual needs and personalities. St. Helen’s CE Primary School has so much to offer both you and your child. As a village school, in picturesque surroundings, we pride ourselves on being part of the local community and value the close ‘family’ atmosphere that we achieve, something that is quite unique to our school. This video shows you more about our school.

Applying for our school

If you’re looking to send your child to our school, we are always happy to give you a tour around our school. Do contact us to arrange a tour or to ask any questions that you might have. The South Gloucestershire Admissions Service handles all of the applications and they are a useful source of information for parents.

Reception 2022 applications

Children born between 1st September 2017 and 31st August 2018 will be eligible for a place at school in September 2022.

Reception 2022 tours for parents

Due to Covid-19, we have adapted our approach to parent tours this year. It’s given us the opportunity to have a fresh look at how we organise these and how we can still enable parents to both gather information, but also get a feel for the school, which is so important in making the right choice for your children.

We’d like to invite you to two different elements of our tours for this year!

In person tour of St Helen's

We have organised a number of 'in-person' tours of St Helen's. These will be no longer than 1 hour and give you a chance to see the school in action. During the tour, you will have a chance to hear from one of our school leaders, listen to some of our Year 6s talking about school life and take a look around the school.

These will take place on:

  • Monday 4th October, 9:30 - 10:30am or 10:45 - 11:45am
  • Monday 8th November, 9:30 - 10:30am or 10:45 - 11:45am
  • Monday 13th December, 9:30 - 10:30am or 10:45 - 11:45am
  • Wednesday 15th December, 9:30 - 10:30am

Due to our Covid risk assessment, we will not be entering classrooms and will be requesting that visitors wear a mask throughout. In order to manage numbers on these tours, we would ask you please to book a school visit by clicking here.

On-line Zoom Meeting

We appreciate that not everyone will be able to make one of our in-person tours, or would prefer to meet virtually. We will be holding an additional 'Zoom' session on Tuesday 9th November at 7:30pm. This session will cover the same content as the 'in-person tour' and include a virtual tour of the school. Please click here to book a place on this and we will be in touch with Zoom login details.

We look forward to welcoming you to St Helen’s both virtually and in person! Please do speak to the school office with any queries you may have.

Please feel free to contact us with any questions that you might have.
